Summary of proposed works The main works will include: - Bus corridors - Cycle lanes - Improving pedestrian facilities - Streetscape in town centre - Upgrading public lighting - Pavement overlay - Signalising junctions - Utility services - New storm water sewer - New foul water sewer - New watermains

The works required for the Ballincollig Green Route Contract are primarily along the R608 and extents between Classes Estate (west of Ballincollig) and Poulavone Roundabout (east of Ballincollig) to Inchigaggin Lane on the Model Farm Road and from Poulavone Roundabout to Inchigaggin Lane on the N22 Carrigrohane Road. The works for the Water Services part of the Contract are primarily along the R608 from Oriel House Hotel to Poulavone Roundabout. The works for the Green Route and Water Services have been amalgamated together into a single contract in order to reduce the likelihood of delay claims and reduce the overall cost of the contracts through economies of scale.

The works have been broken into the following 8 sections:
1) Poulavone Roundabout - Leo Murphy Road
2) Leo Murphy Road - Station Road
3) Station Road - Barrys Road
4) Barrys Road - West End
5) Poulavone Roundabout - Inchigaggin Lane (N22)
6) West End - Classes
7) Poulavone Roundabout - Inchigaggin Lane (Model Farm Road)
8) Poulavone Roundabout - West End (for the pavement overlay)

Works along Main Street

The streetscape along Ballincollig Main Street will be upgraded from the Topaz Garage/Multi-storey car park to the entrance of Castlepark Estate (west of Leo Murphy Road). The paving and appearance of the streetscape upgrade will mirror the new shopping centre streetscape.

The works will include:
- New paving/footpaths

New Lighting New public lighting will be installed from the West End Roundabout to Poulavone Roundabout and to Inchigaggin Lane (N22 and Model Farm Road) Decorative lighting will be installed from the Topaz Garage/ Multi-storey car park to Castlepark Estate

Water Services -The installation of a storm sewer (225-525mm diameter precast concrete) from Oriel House Hotel to Rosewood Estate, east of Leo Murphy Road -The installation of a foul sewer (300-525mm diameter precast concrete) from east of Leo Murphy Road to Poulavone Roundabout -The installation of a watermain (300mm diameter ductile iron) from Station Road to Poulavone Roundabout
